Timezone: GMT+1
Character
Name: Miguel
Series: The road to El Dorado (Dreamworks movie)
Timeline: Towards the end of the movie, after he's overheard Tulio and Chel
Canon Resource Links: http://www.animatedheroes.com/miguel.html, and the whole movie is on Youtube
Affiliation: With his adventurous nature Miguel would undoubtly be a trainer
Personality:
Miguel enjoys life and all it has to offer, but just sitting around doing nothing won't bring you anything and that's why Miguel set out for the streets. He used to live in a very poor family with many siblings. While it was a somewhat nice and simple life, it was not the life Miguel wanted.
Now Miguel is, along with his best friend Tulio, a conman, gambler and thief, and have been (almost) as long as he can remember. Though usually friendly and optimistic, the life on the street have made him a tad bit sarcastic. He is quite charming, and and knows how to use that to his advantage. With his sleek moves and lute play, he has learned how to fool people with his charm.
Miguel does not bother to analyze things and just rushes headfirst into whatever mess it is, for the better or worse. He'd easily risk a whole bunch of money in favor of something that could lead him to a great adventure, which would hopefully lead to even greater riches (as seen in the movie) So his eagerness to get a hold of the map to El Dorado wasn't only out of greediness (though the thought of mountains of gold did play a big part) the most major reason would have been the adventure. Miguel is all in for any thrill, whetever it is a grandiose escape in form of a sword-duel or hiking through a dense jungle.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
He's one of those cool people that you immediately feel comfortable with and that you can trust. Though Miguel MIGHT use that trust against you and fool you. Maybe. It certianly is useful in some situations.
Though if that doesn't work, Miguel is quite skilled at talking his way out of stuff. He can think quickly whenever he needs to. He is witty and creative and while his out-of-the-air ideas might seem far fetched or weird they have a tendency work.
They don't always work though, due to the fact that Miguel doesn't think things through and just goes on intuition and the results can at times be catastrophal.
Miguel is quite strong and lithe, since living on the streets isn't always an easy feat and it's a "survival of the fittest" out there.
Miguel has a really hard time taking things seriously (when Cortes explains they will be flogged and forced to work at a sugar plantation once they reach Cuba, Miguel's only response is "Alright, Cuba!")
He KNOWS when he should take things seriously, it's just that he doesn't want to. Miguel just wants to be happy, and avoids conflict and serious business if he can.
Also, over the years Miguel has grown a little dependent on Tulio and is so used at having him around that he might not 'function' as smoothly when he is absent.
Miguel is a very loyal fellow, and he can easily be hurt when this is exploited by others. Despite this, he cannot hold grudges for long and quickly comes back to terms with anyone. When he is sad, angry or hurt though, he suffers this in silence.

Samples
First Person Sample:
[Only Audio is turned on, so there is nothing but blackness. A short, quite un-manly giggle is heard, along with tick-tack sounds of someone pushing the buttons.]
[The camera lets out a beep, as an indicator when video mode goes on. The only thing that is seen before it all becomes a blur, is a frightened Miguel pushing the camera away. It lets out another terrible noise as it lands.]
"No, Cerdito! Don't go near it! Hey! Are you listening!?""
[The round, pink nose of the Swinub comes into view, sniffing away at the camera. Frantic steps can be heard, and the next second the Swinub is snatched out of view and the camera flies off into the air again. It lands with a horrible thump, the screen flickering with static before it goes black]
Third Person Sample:
Amazing. That's what this was. This new world, or whatever it was. It certianly didn't seem like he was still in El Dorado. Or in Spain. Or in Europe at all. There were strange buildings everywhere, strange people walking around giving him strange looks. It all was so strange. And even though it was scary being in this new place, it was at the same time a little exciting.
The thoughts of El Dorado and the gold and the people was all gone from his head. Momentarily at least. He was stuck here, it seemed, and he didn't know how he had ended up here or why, but he couldn't get back. He had tried asking some of the locals but they had just given him that strange stare.
Although Tulio was nowhere to be found, that was hardly on Miguel's mind at the time. He was busy rummaging through the contents of a bag that odd woman had handed him.
Bottles filled with different liquids. Clothes. Some other strange items he had never seen before. And a... ball?
It was red and white, with a strange button-like thing on it. Not being the type of man that thinks before he acts, Miguel pressed the button.
In a flash of white, the ball cracked in two. Miguel quickly covered his eyes to avoid blindness, or permanen eye damage.
And in the light's place was a... pig?
"A little pig?" Miguel appropriately exclaimed as soon as his vision returned to normal and he could see the little creature cowering by his feet. He stared in disbelief at the little furry brown heap that didn't seem to have any legs.
Did it come from that... ball? That now laid whole beside the pig-like creature. Miguel wasn't shocked. Midly surprised was a better word, considering everything he had witnessed the past few days, this was hardly a competition.
